Fire-resistant power cable – safety and reliability in critical situations

This three-core power cable with a cross-section of 35 mm² is designed for installations requiring the highest level of fire safety. Rated for operation at 0.6/1 kV, it is ideal for powering fire protection equipment and facilities with enhanced fire safety requirements. Manufactured from high-quality materials, it ensures continuous power supply even under extreme conditions.

Protection and applications

This cable is a critical component of systems maintaining electrical functions during a fire, ensuring power supply to devices such as fire pump systems, smoke extraction fans, emergency lighting, and firefighter elevators for a minimum of 90 minutes. This significantly increases the chances of safe evacuation and effective fire suppression. These cables are used in public buildings—including hospitals, shopping centers, cinemas, theaters, stadiums, and metro tunnels—where human safety and property protection are paramount. It holds a Certificate of Conformity and Approval Certificate from the Scientific and Research Center for Fire Protection – PIB in Józefów.

Construction and properties

This cable features an advanced design that ensures its exceptional performance:

• Conductors: Made of soft copper strands (per PN-EN 60228), available in Class RE (single-wire round) or RM (multi-wire round).
• Insulation: Special cross-linked silicone rubber providing high resistance to temperature and fire. Insulation colors comply with PN-HD 308 standard, or black with white conductor numbers for easy identification.
• Filling layer: Halogen-free material enhancing safety by minimizing toxic gas emission during fire.
• Screen: Coaxial conductor made of copper strands and a copper tape spiral anti-twist braid, providing protection against electromagnetic interference.
• Outer sheath: Made of halogen-free HFFR material (HM4 properties per PN-HD 604 S1) in orange color, resistant to UV radiation and mechanical damage.

Thanks to the materials used, the cable does not propagate flame, emits very little smoke, and releases non-toxic and non-corrosive gases. It can be used both indoors and outdoors. Additional protection against water and moisture allows installation even underwater or underground.
