Fire‑resistant cable NHXH-J FE180 PH90/E90 is designed for installations where maintaining electrical functionality during a fire is a matter of life and death. It is intended for use in facilities with heightened safety requirements — hospitals, metros, shopping centres, theatres or stadiums — where even brief power interruptions can have catastrophic consequences.

It provides 90 minutes of operation during a fire — not only 30 minutes as older versions, but up to 1.5 hours. This means fire‑pumps, smoke‑exhaust fans, emergency lighting or fire‑service elevators continue to work while other systems have already failed. The PH90/E90 rating is not marketing fluff — it is a fire‑resistance level certified by PIB in Józefów.

Conductor insulation consists of mica tape and halogen‑free braided material — it does not emit toxic or corrosive gases when burning. The HFFR (halogen‑free flame retardant) coating has an oxygen index above 35 %, which means it does not propagate flame and has very low smoke emission. The cable is orange — not by accident. This colour eases identification in mixed‑type installations and indicates its special purpose.

The conductors are made of soft copper wires according to PN-EN 60228 — specifically 7 conductors with a cross‑section of 10 mm², providing sufficient capacity for medium loads in emergency systems. It includes a green‑yellow protective conductor placed on the outside — easy to identify during installation and grounding checks.

It can be installed both indoors and outdoors. The outer sheath is UV‑resistant — it does not degrade under sunlight. With additional moisture protection (e.g., conduit or ducts), the cable may even be used underground or underwater.

No special installation conditions are required — it does not need to be treated as a “delicate” cable. It is stiff yet flexible enough to be routed through ducts and bent at connections. Installation does require precision: all terminations must be performed according to the standard, as even a minor error can compromise the entire fire‑resistance function.
