Fire-resistant telecommunication cable – safety and reliability of connections
This red HTKSHekw 1x2x0.5 telecommunication cable is an advanced solution designed for fixed installations inside buildings where high fire resistance and minimal emission of harmful substances in the event of a fire are required. It is ideal for fire alarm systems, fire automation, and connections of telecommunication devices and data transmission. The cable is designed to ensure continuous operation even in extreme conditions.
Construction and application
The HTKSHekw cable is characterized by a careful construction that guarantees its durability and reliability. It consists of two copper conductors with a cross-section of 0.5 mm², each insulated with a halogen-free material. The conductors are twisted in pairs, which minimizes interference. Additionally, the cable has a static screen made of laminated metal foil with an earthing conductor, protecting against electromagnetic interference. The whole is surrounded by a red jacket made of halogen-free material (HFFR), meeting the standards EN 50290-2-27 and VDE 0250-214 (HM2).
This cable finds application in:
- Fire alarm systems
- Fire automation
- Telecommunication installations (telephony, telegraphy)
- Data transmission in industrial installations
- Connections of devices in buildings with increased fire protection requirements
Safety and compliance with standards
A key feature of the HTKSHekw cable is its fire resistance. The halogen-free materials from which it is made do not spread flames, emit minimal smoke, and non-toxic and non-corrosive gases during combustion. It has a Certificate and Approval issued by the Scientific Research Centre for Fire Protection - PIB in Józefów, confirming its compliance with the highest safety standards. Additionally, the cable meets the ROHS directives and has the CE mark. The fire reaction class is Eca.
It is important to maintain a minimum bending radius of the cable of 10 x outer diameter (approximately 48mm in this case) to avoid damage and ensure proper functioning of the installation. The operating temperature of the cable is in the range of -40°C to +80°C, and the minimum laying temperature is -10°C. The maximum operating voltage is 150V.
