Fire-Resistant Telecommunication Cable – Safety and Reliability in Critical Fire Protection Installations
This red HTKSH FE180 PH90/E30-E90 telecommunication cable, with a cross-section of 2.8 mm² and four cores, is designed to provide the highest level of safety in installations requiring fire resistance. It is ideal for alarm, signaling, teletransmission, and sound warning systems (SWS), as well as for data transmission in facilities with enhanced fire protection requirements.
This cable is particularly recommended for use in fire alarm and fire automation systems, where reliable operation of equipment during a fire is critical. It complies with stringent safety standards and holds a Certificate of Conformity and Approval Certificate from the Scientific and Research Center for Fire Protection – PIB in Józefów. The use of halogen-free materials minimizes the risk of toxic gas generation during a fire, protecting both people and expensive electronic equipment.
Construction and Properties Ensuring Safety
The HTKSH FE180 cable features an advanced design that guarantees reliable performance even under extreme conditions. Copper cores are insulated with halogen-free compound, twisted into pairs, and protected with a polyester tape. The outer sheath, made of HFFR material, provides fire resistance and minimizes smoke and toxic gas emission. As a result, the cable does not propagate flame, and emitted gases are safe for health and non-corrosive.
In addition, the cable is resistant to water exposure (in accordance with PN-EN 50200 Annex E), allowing its use in rooms equipped with sprinkler fire suppression systems. It ensures continued functionality during a fire, enabling data transmission and power supply to emergency devices such as emergency lighting. The loop resistance of the cores is below 4.3 Ω/km, with conductivity of approximately 2.5 µS/mm, ensuring stable connections and minimal signal loss.
Applications and Compliance with Standards
This cable is intended for permanent indoor installations. It meets the requirements of standards: PN-EN 50200+Annex E or PN-EN 50362, as well as IEC 60331-21 and IEC 60331-11, confirming its fire resistance. It also holds WT-TK-43 and CNBOP-PIB-KOT-2021/0296-3701 ed.1 certifications, attesting to high product quality and compliance with Polish building regulations. It is designed for operation within the PH90 temperature range.
