Fire-resistant telecommunications cable for demanding installations

HTKSHekw 2x2x0.8 red cable is an advanced solution designed for permanent connections in telecommunications, teletransmission, and data transmission systems. Engineered for facilities with enhanced fire safety requirements—such as fire alarm and fire automation systems—it ensures not only reliable communication but also a high level of safety. The cable holds a Certificate and Approval Certificate from the Scientific and Research Center for Fire Protection – PIB in Józefów.

Safety and construction

The key to safety is the use of halogen-free materials. In case of fire, the cable does not propagate flame, emits minimal smoke, and releases non-toxic and non-corrosive gases—protecting both people and expensive electronic equipment. The cable construction includes four copper conductors with a cross-section of 0.8 mm², each insulated with halogen-free material. The conductors are twisted into pairs, and the entire assembly is protected by a static shield made of metal foil (shielded version – ekw), which minimizes electromagnetic interference. The red outer sheath made of HFFR material further enhances fire resistance and facilitates cable identification in installations.

Application and parameters

The HTKSHekw 2x2x0.8 cable is intended for internal building installations. Thanks to its properties, it performs excellently in alarm systems, building automation, and anywhere high fire resistance and minimal emission of harmful substances during fire are required. Designed for operation at 150 V (voltage test 1500 V AC) and temperatures from -30°C to +80°C during operation and from -5°C to +50°C during installation. Minimum bending radius is 10 times the cable diameter. Complies with flammability standards PN-EN 60332-1-2, PN-EN 60332-3-24 and reaction to fire classification B2ca-s1a,d0,a1 according to PN-EN 13501-6. Insulation resistance is at least 500 MΩ·km and inductance approximately 0.7 mH/km.
