Shielded paired control cable – reliability in automation and power systems

This shielded control / data transmission cable, designated YKSLYekw-P-Nr, is designed for use in control, safety and steering systems, as well as for supplying electrical power. The construction with twisted pairs minimizes mutual interference between signals, which is crucial in precise installations. A static screen effectively protects against electromagnetic interference, both external and emitted by the cable itself.

This cable is characterized by high flexibility and mechanical strength, which facilitates installation and ensures long-term reliability. It is ideal for both fixed installations and movable connections inside buildings. The polyvinyl chloride (PVC) coating provides resistance to oils, expanding the range of possible applications.

Construction and design features

The cable is constructed of 24 cores with a cross-section of 1 mm², twisted in pairs for better interference reduction. The cores are made of soft copper wires (optionally tinned), which ensures flexibility and facilitates routing. Each core is insulated with PVC insulation, and the insulation colors comply with PN-92/T-90321 (IEC 60189-2) or black/brown with white pair number printing – in the YKSLYekw-P-Nr version.

The cable core is wrapped with a polyester tape for additional mechanical protection. A common static screen made of laminated metal foil, together with an earthing conductor made of tinned copper wires, provides effective protection against electromagnetic interference. The whole is surrounded by a black polyvinyl chloride (PVC) jacket.

YKSLYekw-P and YKSLYekw-P-Nr cables are used in a wide range of industrial and commercial installations:

• YvKSLYekw-P / YvKSLYekw-P-Nr: with reinforced jacket – designed for laying outdoors and directly in the ground.
