Control cable, shielded, twisted pair – reliability in automation and power systems

This shielded control / data transmission cable, with a conductor cross-section of 1.5 mm² and 20 cores, is designed to operate in demanding energy conditions of control, protection and drive systems. It will work well in both power and signal transmission applications. The construction with twisted pairs minimizes mutual interference between signals, which is crucial in precise automation systems.

This cable is characterized by high flexibility and mechanical strength, which facilitates its installation even in tight spaces. A common static screen effectively protects against electromagnetic interference, ensuring stable data transmission and reliable operation of devices. This is particularly important in environments with a high level of interference, such as industrial plants or data centers.

Construction and application

The YKSLYekw-P-Nr cable is made of soft copper strands, twisted in pairs and surrounded by polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulation. The cores are twisted in layers in the center, and the whole is protected with a polyester tape and a common static screen made of laminated metal foil. In addition, under the screen there is an earthing conductor made of tinned copper wires. The outer coating is made of black rubberized polyvinyl chloride (PVC), resistant to oil action.

Thanks to its construction, this cable is suitable for permanent laying as well as for movable connections inside buildings. It can also be used in special versions:

• Oil-resistant version (YKSLYekw-P-O / YKSLYekw-P-Nr-O): designed for use in places exposed to contact with petroleum-based materials (e.g. petrol stations).
• Increased fire resistance version (YnKSLYekw-P / YnKSLYekw-P-Nr): meeting the PN-EN 60332-3 standard regarding flame propagation.
• Version for outdoor laying (YvKSLYekw-P / YvKSLYekw-P-Nr): with a reinforced coating allowing direct burial in the ground.
