Shielded control cable – reliability in control and power systems

This shielded control / data transmission cable, catalog number 0491 029 05, is a robust solution for use in energy control, protection and control systems, as well as for supplying electrical power. This cable, manufactured by TECHNOKABEL S.A., is characterized by a construction that minimizes interference and ensures stable signal transmission.

The YKSLYekw-P-Nr 0.6 / 1 kV cable is characterized by the presence of twisted pairs, which significantly reduce the mutual interaction between the transmitted signals. This is particularly important in installations where precision and reliability of data transmission are critical. In addition, a common static screen effectively protects the cable cores from external interference and prevents the emission of interference to the environment.

The cable construction is designed for high flexibility and mechanical strength, which facilitates installation and ensures long-term operation even in difficult conditions. The possibility of permanent laying and use in movable connections inside buildings makes it a universal choice for various applications. The cable jacket is resistant to oil, which expands its range of applications.

Construction and design features

The cable consists of 32 cores with a cross-section of 1 mm², made of soft copper wires (optionally tinned). Each core is insulated with PVC insulation, and the insulation colors comply with PN-92/T-90321 (IEC 60189-2) or black and brown with white printing of the pair number (in the YKSLYekw-P-Nr version). The cores are twisted in pairs, then layered in a center wrapped with a polyester tape. The center is protected by a common static screen made of laminated metal foil and a grounding conductor made of tinned copper wires. The whole is surrounded by a black jacket made of PVC sheathing (though other colors are available on request).

Special versions – adaptation to specific needs

TECHNOKABEL offers specialized versions of the cable:

• YKSLYekw-P-O: designed for operation in environments exposed to frequent contact with petroleum-based materials (e.g. gas stations). The jacket is made of a special PVC material with high oil resistance.

• YnKSLYekw-P: cables with increased fire resistance, meeting the PN-EN 60332-3 standard regarding the absence of flame propagation.

• YvKSLYekw-P: cables with a reinforced PVC jacket, designed for outdoor installations and direct laying in the ground.
