Shielded Twisted Pair Control Cable – Reliability in Control and Power Systems

This shielded control/data transmission cable, catalog number 0491 013 05, is specifically designed for energy control, protection, and automation systems, as well as for electrical power supply. Its twisted pair construction minimizes mutual interference between signals, resulting in higher data transmission quality and enhanced system stability.

The cable offers excellent flexibility and mechanical durability, simplifying installation and ensuring long-term operation. It performs reliably in both fixed installations and applications requiring frequent movement. Additionally, its rubber-grade PVC sheath provides resistance to oils, expanding its range of applications.

Construction and Properties

The cable’s reliability stems from its carefully engineered design, comprising:

• Conductors, flexible, multi-stranded, made of soft copper wires (optionally tin-plated), Class 5 according to PN-EN 60228, ensuring excellent conductivity and flexibility.
• Insulation of each conductor made of insulating PVC, available in colors compliant with PN-92/T-90321 (IEC 60189-2) for YKSLYekw-P 0.6/1 kV cable, or black and brown with white-paired-number printing for YKSLYekw-P-Nr 0.6/1 kV cable – facilitating conductor identification during installation.
• Twisted pairs that minimize electromagnetic interference.
• Core wrapped in polyester tape – additional protection against mechanical damage.
• Overall static shield consisting of a laminated metallic foil and a tin-plated copper grounding conductor – providing effective protection against external interference and emission of disturbances.
• Outer sheath made of black rubber-grade PVC, resistant to abrasion and mechanical damage. Other colors available upon request.

The cable features 16 conductors, each with a cross-section of 0.5 mm², making it ideal for applications requiring a high number of signal or power conductors.
