This shielded control/data transmission cable, designated as YKSLYekw-P-Nr, is designed for use in demanding control, safety, and automation systems, as well as for electrical power supply. The cable stands out for its flexibility and mechanical durability, facilitating installation even under challenging conditions. Its twisted pair construction minimizes mutual interference between signals, ensuring stable data transmission.

Construction and Application

The key to the cable’s effective performance lies in its advanced design. It consists of flexible, multi-strand copper conductors (tin-plated upon request), insulated with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulation. The twisted pairs are then layered within the cable core and wrapped with a polyester tape. A common static shield made of laminated metallic foil, together with a grounding conductor, effectively protects against electromagnetic interference both internally and externally. The entire assembly is enclosed in a black PVC rubber-like sheath, providing resistance to mechanical damage and environmental factors.

This cable is ideal for applications requiring high reliability in data transmission and protection against interference. It performs reliably in both fixed and moving installations within buildings. Additionally, the sheath exhibits good resistance to oil exposure.

Special Versions and Design Features

Special cable versions are available to suit specific operating conditions:

• Oil-resistant version (YKSLYekw-P-O / YKSLYekw-P-Nr-O): Designed for use in environments exposed to petroleum-based products (e.g., fuel stations). The sheath is made from a special PVC compound with high oil resistance.
• Enhanced flame-retardant version (YnKSLYekw-P / YnKSLYekw-P-Nr): Manufactured with self-extinguishing PVC insulation featuring an elevated oxygen index, compliant with PN-EN 60332-3 for flame non-propagation.
• Outdoor installation version (YvKSLYekw-P / YvKSLYekw-P-Nr): Features a reinforced PVC sheath suitable for outdoor installation and direct burial in soil.

The cable contains 16 cores with a cross-section of 2.5 mm², ensuring sufficient capacity for a wide range of control and transmission applications.
