Control cable shielded twisted pair – reliability in control and power systems

This shielded control / data transmission cable, designated YKSLYekw-P-Nr, is a solid solution for energetic control, safety and steering systems. It will work both in power installations and in transmitting control signals. The cable is particularly useful where minimizing interference and ensuring stable data transmission is important.

The cable is distinguished by its construction with twisted pairs, which reduce mutual interaction between signals. This ensures that the transmitted information is more accurate and resistant to interference. A common static screen additionally protects against the influence of external electromagnetic fields and limits the emission of interference outside the cable.

Construction and design features

The key to the durability and flexibility of the cable is its careful construction. The conductors are made of soft copper strands, twisted in pairs, which gives them high flexibility and mechanical resistance. The conductor insulation is made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and the insulation colors correspond to the PN-92/T-90321 standard (consistent with IEC 60189-2) or, in the -Nr version – black and brown with white numbering of the pair. The cable core is wrapped with a polyester tape for additional protection. The whole is protected by a common static screen made of laminated metal foil and an earthing conductor made of tinned copper wires. On the outside, the cable is surrounded by a black oponous polyvinyl chloride (PVC) coating, also available in other colors on request.

The use of high-quality materials guarantees reliable operation even in difficult working conditions. This cable is suitable for permanent laying and for movable connections inside buildings, and its coating exhibits good resistance to oils.

The YKSLYekw-P-Nr cable finds application in a wide range of industrial and commercial installations:

Special versions of the cable are also available:

• YKSLYekw-P-O: designed for operation in environments exposed to contact with petroleum-based materials (e.g. petrol stations). The coating is made of a special PVC material resistant to oil.
• YnKSLYekw-P: with increased flame retardancy, meeting the PN-EN 60332-3 standard regarding the absence of flame propagation.
• YvKSLYekw-P: with a reinforced polyvinyl chloride coating, enabling installation outdoors and directly in the ground.

Thanks to the conductor cross-section of 0.75 mm² and 24 conductors, this cable provides sufficient performance for various applications.
