Sine Filter for Inverters – Protection and Efficiency
This three-phase SinECO-75/140 sine filter is designed to work with inverters with a power of 75 kW. Its task is to restore the sinusoidal shape of the voltage at the inverter output, which translates into a number of benefits for both the installer and the end user. This filter is key to the reliable operation of drive systems powered by inverters.
How it works and where is it used?
Sine filters, such as the SinECO-75/140, are used in drive systems powered by voltage inverters. Their main goal is to eliminate higher-order harmonics generated by the inverter, which can negatively affect the operation of connected devices. They work by suppressing interference and shaping a clean sinusoidal voltage waveform. This solution is particularly important for motors, where harmonics can lead to overheating, noise and reduced lifespan.
Benefits of using a sine filter
- Motor and cable protection: Reducing harmonics limits the degradation of motor and power cable insulation, increasing their durability.
- Reduced energy losses: The sine filter minimizes additional power losses in the motor, which translates into lower operating costs.
- Noise reduction: Improved voltage quality affects quieter motor operation.
- Inverter relief: Eliminating capacitive currents reduces the load on the inverter, which can extend its lifespan and improve the reliability of the entire system.
- Compliance with standards: The filter meets the requirements of technical standards PN-EN 60076-6 and PN-EN 61558-2-20, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.
Construction features and operating parameters
The SinECO-75/140 filter is designed to operate in standard network conditions – voltage 400V (with a tolerance of +10%) and frequency 50Hz. The chokes, which are a key element of the filter, are made in low-loss technology, which further increases the energy efficiency of the system. The device is adapted to work with a switching frequency above 4 kHz and withstands overloads up to 110% for 60 minutes and 150% for 60 seconds. The voltage drop does not exceed 10% of the nominal voltage (Un), and the total harmonic distortion (ThdU) is maintained below 5%. Voltage tests are carried out at a value of 3kV / 50Hz / 60s. The maximum ambient operating temperature is 40°C, and the insulation class is T40F (155°C). The degree of protection is IP00 (optionally IP23; IP44; IP54). Mounting is done with screws through angle brackets, and the electrical terminals are made in the form of clamps/terminals/busbars.
