Construction and properties

The pipe consists of an inner pipe made of PE-Xa (cross-linked polyethylene), surrounded by a layer of closed-cell PE-X foam insulation. The whole is protected by a corrugated outer jacket made of HDPE (high-density polyethylene). This construction guarantees flexibility, resistance to mechanical damage and minimizes the risk of condensation. ECOFLEX Aqua pipes are characterized by self-compensation – i.e. adaptation to changes in ambient temperature – which translates into stable operation of the installation for years. A thermal conductivity coefficient of 0.04 W/(m.K) indicates high thermal insulation efficiency.

Application and benefits

The ECOFLEX Aqua Twin system is primarily intended for the transport of domestic hot water in underground networks, where the design temperature of the supply water is 70°C (according to PN-EN 15875). The maximum short-term temperature can reach up to 80°C, providing a safety margin.
