The PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) heating material used, i.e. containing a polycrystalline ceramic material in which the phenomenon of self-regulation occurs, increases the resistance of the PTC heater with increasing temperature, which reduces power and power consumption. The PTC heater is designed to maintain the set temperature and consume as much power during operation as is necessary to maintain this temperature. As a result, it saves energy, because the heater only consumes as much electricity as is necessary. The use of a heater lowers the threshold for the outdoor temperature at which the defrost mode is activated.
