Explosion-proof axial fan for hazardous areas

The TCBT/6 EX ATEX 450/HB fan is designed for operation in areas where there is a risk of explosion from flammable gases or vapors. It meets the requirements of the ATEX Directive 94/9/EC and is certified as II 2G Ex e IIB T3, meaning it can be installed in Zones 1 and 2 – where explosive atmospheres occur regularly or occasionally.

The housing is made of steel sheet with cathodic protection and a polyester coating, ensuring corrosion resistance, while stainless steel fasteners enhance durability in aggressive environments. The aluminum sheet impeller is dynamically balanced according to ISO 1940-1, reducing vibrations and extending the service life of the unit.

Airflow occurs from the impeller toward the motor (designation HB), allowing for better motor cooling under high ambient temperature conditions. The IP55 protection rating guards against dust and water jets – a key feature for installation in industrial facilities, warehouses, or garages.

The operating medium temperature ranges from -20°C to +40°C, limiting its use to environments with moderate temperatures. It is not suitable for conveying hot gases or fumes – only for ventilating air in industrial conditions.

Installation is possible in both horizontal and vertical positions. The ducted version enables easy integration with ventilation systems without the need for additional adaptations. The absence of PG-11 cable glands (unlike standard versions) is due to the special ATEX construction – all electrical connections are designed in accordance with explosion safety requirements.

The ATEX certificate and CE declaration of conformity are available as manufacturer technical documents and do not require additional confirmation by the installer during installation. Insulation class F allows safe operation at elevated motor temperatures, which is important during prolonged operation under load.

Please note: this fan is not intended for use in atmospheres containing hydrogen (H₂) or combustible dusts – for such cases, other markings (e.g., IIB+H2 or IIIC) are required. This solution is dedicated exclusively to explosive atmosphere zones of type IIB, where gases such as propane, butane, or benzene predominate.
