Explosion‑proof duct fan for explosion‑hazard zones

The TCBT/4-630/H fan is a special version of the COMPACT model, designed for use in areas at risk of explosion. Its construction meets the requirements of ATEX Directive 94/9/EC and is certified as Exe II T3, meaning it can be safely installed in zones 1 and 2 – where an explosive atmosphere may exist due to the presence of flammable gases or vapours.

The motor is built according to protection type “e” (enhanced safety), and the housing has an IP55 protection rating, providing resistance to dust and water jets – essential for installation in industrial ventilation systems. Insulation class F allows stable operation at elevated temperatures, increasing reliability in long‑term cycles.

Operating conditions and limitations

The fan is approved for operation in an ambient temperature range of ‑20 °C to +40 °C. This range applies to models TCBT/4-315 up to 630 mm – therefore this particular unit must not be used in environments above +40 °C. For conductive or non‑conductive dusts other certifications are required – this model is not approved for them.

Construction and installation

The fan has a standard duct construction – it is mounted directly to the ductwork, without the need for additional guards or thermal insulation.
