Elbow for plumbing and heating installations
This elbow with an external thread is made of polypropylene (PP-R) and brass, designed for connecting pipes in plumbing and heating systems. It allows changing the installation direction by 90 degrees, and the 1/2 inch thread allows connecting fittings with a thread. It is an essential element when creating branches or circuits in the installation.
Design and application
The elbow is characterized by a welded/fused connection on one side and an external metric thread on the other. Made of PP-R, it ensures durability and corrosion resistance, and the brass thread guarantees a tight connection. The use of a threaded elbow is particularly useful where a connection of elements with different diameters or materials is required - e.g., when connecting valves, pressure regulators or other fittings. This solution gives the installer greater flexibility in designing and implementing the installation.
Key features and benefits
- Durability and reliability: Made of high-quality materials – PP-R and brass – which ensures long-term use without the risk of failure.
- Tight connection: The brass external thread provides a secure and tight connection with fittings.
- Versatility: Possibility of connecting PP-R pipes with threaded elements, which increases the flexibility of the installation.
- Corrosion resistance: PP-R material is resistant to the action of water and chemicals, which ensures the longevity of the installation.
- High strength: Standardized dimension ratio (SDR) of 6 guarantees adequate resistance to working pressure up to 16 bar.
- Easy installation: Welded/fused connection is quick and easy to perform using appropriate tools.
- Safety: The elbow has gaskets, which further increases the tightness of the connection and minimizes the risk of leaks.
Technical parameters
The nominal diameter of connection 1 is DN 20 (28 mm outer diameter), and connection 2 is 1/2 inch (21 mm outer diameter). The wall thickness of the pipe in the welded part is 4 mm, and in the threaded part – 3 mm. The elbow is adapted to continuous operation at a temperature of 0 to 75°C. The Zeta value is 1.5, which affects the flow of liquid in the installation. The elbow does not have a drain valve or air vent, which makes it a simple and functional installation element.
