Internal drainage elbow – reliability and durability Wavin
This sanitary elbow, made of durable high-temperature polypropylene (PP-HT), is a key element of drainage installations in residential and commercial buildings. Designed to connect 40 mm diameter pipes at an angle of 67.5°, it provides a tight and durable connection, minimizing the risk of leaks and failures. The elbow is ash-colored, which makes it easier to identify in the installation.
The PP-HT elbow is characterized by high temperature resistance (up to 90°C), allowing for safe drainage of warm sanitary wastewater. The use of PP-HT in diameters of 32 and 40 mm and PVC-U in larger diameters (50, 75 and 110 mm) is a proven strategy, combining the advantages of both materials. PVC-HT is characterized by lower roughness, which limits the deposition of scale and ensures a longer service life of the installation – even up to 50 years.
- Durable material: High-temperature polypropylene (PP-HT) guarantees resistance to mechanical and chemical damage.
- Tightness: SBR gaskets ensure a secure and durable connection, eliminating the risk of leaks.
- Thermal resistance: Suitable for continuous operation at temperatures from 20°C to 90°C.
- Versatility: Compatible with Wavin SiTech and Wavin AS systems thanks to socket connections and reducing fittings.
- Quality mark: The Wavin drainage system has the PRiK “Good Choice” mark, confirming the high standard of quality and professionalism of the manufacturer.
Installation and application
The PP-HT 40/67 sanitary elbow is used in internal drainage installations where high resistance to temperature and the chemical nature of the drained wastewater is required. Thanks to its design, it enables smooth flow of the medium, minimizing the risk of clogging. Installation is simple and quick thanks to the use of push-fit connections with gaskets. It is important to properly prepare the pipe surfaces before installation – they should be clean and degreased.
The working connection length is 50.5 mm and 47 mm, respectively, and the wall thickness is 1.8 mm and 1.6 mm, which ensures the stability of the structure. The standardized dimension ratio (SDR) is 35, which affects the mechanical strength of the elbow at a given working pressure. The elbow is supplied in cardboard boxes of 40 pieces or on pallets containing as many as 1920 pieces – an ideal solution for both small installations and large construction projects.
