Cross-connection terminal (jumper), plug-in, red, 17.5 A, Number of poles: 10, Pitch in mm: 3.50, Insulated: Yes, Width: 33.5 mm, ZQV 1.5N/10 RD 1985800000
Design and construction of the cross connector
The ZQV type cross connector is designed for use with Weidmüller Z series terminal blocks with a cross-section of 1,5 mm². It is made of Wemid - a material that ensures high dielectric strength and UL 94 V0 flammability class (self-extinguishing, non-flame spreading).
A 3,50 mm pitch and a plugged design allow for tool-free mounting - simply press the cross connector into the terminal slots. Disassembly also does not require specialized tools - simply gently pry the element up.
The total width is 33,5 mm, and ten poles allow for the simultaneous connection of ten terminals in a single row.
Insulation and protection against contact
The cross connector is fully insulated - each contact has its own cover protecting against accidental electrical contact. The built-in shock protection meets safety requirements during installation and operation, even in tight switchgear spaces.
Thanks to the insulation, there is no need to use additional partitions between jumpered terminals - the installation is faster and more compact.
Application and compatibility
The primary application is power distribution - supplying multiple circuits from a single source without the need to run separate wires through each terminal. A second typical use is signal transmission between terminal blocks (e.g., control signals from a PLC to multiple actuators).
The red color traditionally signifies control circuits or phase in Weidmüller systems - this facilitates wiring organization and subsequent diagnostics.
The manufacturer offers a full range of color variants (orange for auxiliary circuits, blue for ground/earth) and different numbers of poles - from 2 up to 50 - allowing for the selection of the appropriate model for a specific application.
Operating parameters and approvals
The rated continuous current is 17,5 A, which, under standard switchgear loads, provides a safety margin sufficient for most industrial applications - from simple control circuits to more complex automation systems.
The rated voltage of 400 V AC/DC covers typical low-voltage industrial network requirements.
The cross connector has ATEX / Ex e certification, allowing for use in explosion-hazardous areas (gas and dust). The product complies with the RoHS directive and does not contain SVHC substances from the specific REACH list.
