PUSH IN technology and wire handling

The A4C feed-through terminal block utilizes innovative PUSH IN technology, which allows for tool-free wire connection. Simply insert the wire into the terminal - the spring automatically presses it, ensuring stable electrical contact. This significantly reduces wiring time compared to traditional screw terminals.

The design supports a wide range of wire cross-sections:

• solid wire from 0.5 to 4 mm²
• stranded with or without ferrule - from 0.5 to 6 mm²
• multi-core also from 0.5 to 6 mm²

For solid wires, no ferrules are required, simplifying installation. Stranded wires can be connected both with ferrules (according to DIN 46228/1 and DIN 46228/4) and without them - this flexibility makes the block suitable for various mounting conditions.

The stripping length is 12 mm, and the test screwdriver size is 0.6 × 3.5 mm. The wire connection direction is top-entry.

Electrical and mechanical parameters

The block operates with a rated voltage of up to 800 V and a current up to 32 A. The impulse withstand voltage is 8 kV, providing protection against surges in industrial installations.

Housing dimensions:

• width only 6.1 mm - the compact rail allows for dense arrangement on the DIN rail
• height 87.5 mm
• depth 39.5 mm (with DIN rail - approximately 40.5 mm)

The net weight is just 15.06 g, which minimizes the load on the mounting rail.

The operating temperature range from −60 °C to +130 °C allows for use in both industrial freezers and high-temperature environments.

The housing made of Wemid thermoplastic meets the UL94 V-0 flammability class - the self-extinguishing material does not spread flames.

Certificates and standard compliance

The block complies with the IEC 60947-7-1 standard, which specifies requirements for terminal blocks for industrial installations.

The design holds the following certificates:

• ATEX (TUEV16ATEX7909U) - approved for use in explosive atmospheres
• IECEx (IECEXTUR16.0036U) - international certification for Ex devices

ATEX designation: Ex eb II C Gb and II 2 G D according to directive 2014/34/EU. In the Ex context, the maximum parameters are 550 V / max. wire cross-section up to Ø4mm².

Additionally, the block has approvals for:

• cURus - American installation market
• CSA - Canadian market

The pollution degree according to IEC is 3, and the overvoltage category is III.

Mounting and compatibility

The block is mounted on a TH-35mm (TS35) DIN rail. An end plate is required - available, among others, as AEP 4C4 OR (orange), AEP 4C4 BL (blue), or AEP 4C4.

The open sides of the block are on the right side - please take this into account when designing the rail layout.

The DEK/WS marking system is based on the proven MultiCard format - they can be printed using laser printers or plotters (M-Print PRO software).
