Reliable circuit protection in a compact housing
The WSI 6 fuse terminal block is part of the W series from the German manufacturer Weidmüller - one of the most recognizable families of screw terminals on the industrial market.
The housing made of Wemid plastic meets the highest flammability class UL94 V-0 - a self-extinguishing material after the removal of the fire source, which is crucial in industrial applications and control cabinets.
Construction and wire connection
Conductive elements are tin-plated for maximum electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance. Hardened steel guarantees mechanical stability during repeated tightening.
The terminal supports a wide range of cross-sections:
- solid conductors: from 0,5 to 10 mm²,
- ferruled conductors: from 0,5 to 6 mm²,
- multi-core conductors: from 1,5 to 10 mm².
The stripping length is 12 mm, and the connection direction is lateral. The design allows for the connection of two conductors with the same cross-section without additional accessories.
Operating parameters and dimensions
The insert accommodates a standard G ø5×20 mm fuse seated in a hinged socket - a practical solution for frequent replacement of the element. The maximum power loss with the insert is 1,6 W, which limits the rated current to 6,3 A.
The operating temperature range from -50°C to +120°C allows for use in both industrial cold storage and near heat sources.
The housing dimensions are 60 × ~61 × ~7,9 mm, and the weight is approximately 18-19 g. Mounting on the TH-35 DIN rail is done by snapping - disassembly is possible in both directions without tools.
Standards and approvals
The product has international approvals confirmed by certificates:
- CE - compliance with EU directives,
- UL Recognized - American safety standard,
- CSA - Canadian certificate,
- EAC - Eurasian approvals,
- RoHS - restriction of hazardous substances.
It meets the IEC 60947-7-x system standard for fuse terminals as well as the requirements for pollution degree class III when designing the switchgear.
When planning the installation, remember the required end plate - its absence prevents correct mounting in a rail assembly.
