Push-In grounding terminal for TH35
PE terminal block designed for fast and secure connection of protective (grounding) conductors in switchboards and control cabinets mounted on TH35 DIN rails. The single-level design with two connection points allows for the creation of continuous grounding bridges - simply use the appropriate bridge links between consecutive terminals.
The Wemid thermoplastic housing ensures high thermal resistance in the range of from -60°C to +130°C, making it suitable for both cold warehouse halls and operation near heat-generating devices. The V-0 flammability classification according to UL94 means it is a self-extinguishing material - even with a contact fire source, the flame does not spread across the surface of the housing.
Push-In connection and wire compatibility
Push-In technology enables the insertion of solid and stranded wires without the use of tools - simply open the hole by pressing the lever or push the end of the conductor into the connection hole (in the case of solid wires). For multi-layer or flexible stranded wires, the use of ferrule end sleeves is recommended, which stabilizes the contact and facilitates multiple switching cycles.
The range of supported cross-sections is wide:
| Wire type | Minimum cross-section | Maximum cross-section |
|---|---|---|
| Solid | 0,5 mm² | 16 mm² |
| Stranded with ferrule | 0,5 mm² | 16 mm² |
| Bare stranded wire | 0,5 mm² | 25 mm² |
| Multi-core | 10 mm² | 25 mm² |
For installations requiring the PEN function (Protective Earth and Neutral), the terminal also supports this configuration - which is important in building and industrial switchboards where simplified cabling infrastructure reduces the number of conductors.
Contact design and mechanical durability
The conductive parts are made of tin-plated copper - the tin coating protects against corrosion and oxidation of the contact, while maintaining a low contact resistance at the level of 0,42 mΩ. The mechanical load-bearing elements (clamping springs) are made of hardened steel, which withstands multiple insertion and removal cycles of wires without losing clamping force.
The rated short-circuit current at a cross-section of 16 mm² is 1920 A, which guarantees safe conduction of the short-circuit current for a time sufficient for higher protection devices (fuses, circuit breakers) to actuate. Power loss of 2,43 W at full load complies with IEC standards for devices of this type.
Standards and approvals
The terminal meets the requirements of the IEC 60947-7-2 standard, which defines detailed parameters for earth terminal blocks - including the geometric dimensions of the conductive parts (calibre A6), a test voltage of 8 kV, and surge category III at pollution degree 3.
The product also holds ATEX and IECEx certificates for use in explosive atmospheres (ATEX certificate number: TUEV16ATEX7909U), extending its utility to petrochemical and mining installations. The cURus approval confirms compliance with US and Canadian market requirements.
Overall dimensions are 12 × 80,5 × 51,5 mm - the compact width allows for dense packing of many terminals in a switchboard, and the height accounts for reserve for free wire manipulation during assembly. The mass of approximately 48 g does not excessively load the DIN rail or the switchboard structure.
An end plate is required for installation (available separately as End Plate AEP 2C) - it provides an insulating barrier between the last terminal in the series and adjacent switchboard elements and protects against accidental contact with live parts.
