Rainwater harvesting system for efficient water use

The Wilo-RAIN1-24 EM rainwater harvesting system is a complete system for utilizing rainwater, designed for both households and smaller facilities. The device allows for a significant reduction in potable water consumption, offering an economical and ecological solution for supplying water for purposes such as toilet flushing, garden irrigation, and washing. Thanks to its compact design and numerous hydraulic connection options, installation is simple and quick.

Construction and functionality

The system includes a self-priming HiMulti 3 P centrifugal pump, mounted on a frame with a vibration damper, a 10-liter tank for replenishing with fresh water with a float valve, and a 3-way valve. The system automatically switches to mains water when there is no rainwater in the tank. It is equipped with a float switch with a 20 m long cable to control the water level in the tank and a potential-free contact for connecting an external alarm or failure signal. Control is via an intuitive user interface with an LED display.

The Wilo-RAIN1-24 EM system is characterized by a maximum capacity of 5.25 m³/h and a maximum head of 38.88 m. The rated current is 2.7 A, and the power consumption of the motor is 0.62 kW (output power: 0.4 kW). The device operates at an ambient temperature from 5 to 40°C and a voltage of 230 V at a frequency of 50 Hz. The tank material is ABS, and the impeller is polypropylene (PP). The intended use includes both home installations and small commercial facilities requiring efficient rainwater management. The inlet and outlet connections have a tapered external gas thread (BSPP) with a diameter of 1 inch (25 mm). The maximum operating pressure is 8 bar.
