Application and Design

The YnTKSYekw 1x2x0.8 cable is a shielded telecommunications cable designed for installation in alarm, control, and signaling systems—particularly where resistance to electromagnetic interference is required. Its construction includes a single pair of solid copper conductors (Class 1), each 0.8 mm in diameter, insulated with PVC, twisted together, and enclosed in a common shield made of metallized foil, along with a grounding conductor. The outer sheath is made of flame-retardant-treated PVC, enabling safe use in fire-risk environments.

Durability and Operating Conditions

The cable withstands temperatures from -40°C to +70°C in fixed installations, making it suitable for both unheated spaces and areas with extreme climatic conditions. For mobile installations (e.g., on moving equipment), the permitted temperature range is -10°C to +50°C. The minimum bending radius is 10 times the cable’s width, ensuring resistance to mechanical stress during installation and operation. The foil shield and grounding conductor effectively suppress interference from other cables or electronic devices, which is critical for low-voltage signal transmission.

Compliance and Safety

The outer sheath meets non-propagating flame requirements according to EN 60332-1-2—the cable does not contribute to fire spread. However, it is not halogen-free and does not comply with low-smoke emission standards, so it is not suitable for installations requiring Eca-class cables (e.g., tunnels, subways). It is approved for indoor use and its design allows application as an external signaling cable—e.g., between a building and a gate or camera. With an approximate diameter of 4.4 mm and a mass of 30 kg/km, it is easy to route through conduits and ducts without overloading the structure.
