Shut-off Valve – Reliable Shut-off for Industrial Systems
This cast iron shut-off valve, GLO Fig. 215C, with nominal diameter DN150 and pressure rating PN16, is a robust solution for industrial, district heating, and water/steam piping systems. Manufactured from high-quality ductile iron EN-GJS-400-18-LT, it ensures durability and excellent corrosion resistance. The valve design guarantees high tightness (Class A per EN 12266-1), minimizing leakage risk and ensuring safe system operation.
Construction and Materials – Key to Longevity
The valve features a detachable stem-to-disc connection, simplifying maintenance and component replacement. The stem is made of brass, while the disc and body ring are made of bronze, ensuring reliable performance under varying operating conditions. Flanges are machined in accordance with EN 1092-2 for body material group A, and the face-to-face dimension complies with EN 558-1 Series 1. The entire design conforms to the Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC and bears the CE marking for DN 32, confirming compliance with European safety standards.
Applications and Compatibility
This valve is ideally suited for:
- Hot, cold, and chilled water systems
- Steam piping systems
- Industrial processes
- District heating networks
- Power generation
Additionally, the valve’s technical data is preloaded into popular engineering software libraries, including Instal-therm, Instal-san, Audytor C.O. 3.8, and Audytor H2O 1.5, significantly simplifying system design and component selection. The valve can be installed in any orientation (horizontal or vertical), enhancing installation flexibility. It is rated for a maximum working pressure of 16 bar and operating temperatures up to 300°C (at PN16).
