Infrared heaters – what are they and how are they used?
Do you want to warm up quickly without wasting a lot of energy? Or maybe you are wondering what heater will work well on a large surface? If so, get to know the innovative heating method, which is the infrared heater, and feel the pleasant warmth.
Our store offers radiant heaters of various power and purpose, so you can find a product tailored to you. Check out our offer and ensure thermal comfort.
How do infrared heaters work and where to use them?
Infrared heaters use electrical energy, converting it into heat energy. The current flowing through the heater heats the filament, which emits waves in the form of infrared radiation responsible for the heating effect.
Interestingly, infrared rays do not heat the air, only the objects around them. They are therefore highly energy efficient.
Infrared heaters are used to heat open spaces and large rooms. They are used in industry, medicine, biological regeneration, animal and plant breeding.
Heat emitters - color and type of glass
Our offer includes short-wave spotlights. Their light source is a bulb, which can be made of soft, hard or pressed glass (PAR).
Soft glass will work well in places where there is no risk of damage. Radiators made of hard, durable glass or PAR pressed glass with a reinforced structure are stronger. They are impact resistant, so they can be used in difficult conditions.
Some models have a double reflector, which emits more heat with the same power. They are therefore more economical than regular radiators.
We also have red bulbs that have a positive effect on living organisms. They are mainly used in medicine, biological regeneration and animal husbandry.
What heater power should I choose?
The power of the heater affects the amount of heat emitted and varies depending on the room being heated, e.g.:
living room and children's rooms – 30W/m3;
bathroom – 40W/m3;
kitchen and bedroom – 25W/m3;
hall and corridors – 20W/m3.
In open spaces, the power depends on temperature, wind and distance from the radiator. It should be 150-250W/m2.
Advantages of infrared heaters
Electric heaters are very easy to use – just plug them into the power source.
They have lower energy losses than convection heating. They only heat nearby objects, not the air that escapes upwards.
They provide fast heating. You can feel the pleasant warmth after just a second.
Infrared heating is an ecological solution because no pollutants are emitted into the atmosphere.
Infrared radiation does not cause air movement. It is not dried out, and dust and allergens do not rise.
The radiant heater is safe. There is no risk of fire or gas leakage.
