Fiber optic cable OS2, designed for building FTTx networks and subscriber connections, both indoors and outdoors. The cable construction combines lightness, flexibility and durability, making installation easier even in difficult conditions. The flat shape makes it easy to route the cable and attach it directly to walls.

Construction and application

The cable is characterized by reinforcement with steel rods, which provide stability and resistance to mechanical damage. G.657.A1 optical fibers guarantee minimal bending radii, which is particularly important in tight spaces. LSOH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) jacket ensures safe use by limiting the emission of toxic substances in the event of a fire and is resistant to UV radiation. Thanks to this, the cable performs well in a variety of applications – from telecommunication networks, through local LAN networks, to installations in residential and office buildings.

The cable has 2 optical fibers with a diameter of 9/125µm, made in OS2 standard and compliant with G.657.A1 standard. Tensile strength is 80 N, and operating temperature range is from -30°C to +70°C. The cable is available in 1000m sections and is characterized by low signal attenuation – below 0.36 dB/km at a wavelength of 1310 nm and below 0.22 dB/km at a wavelength of 1550 nm. The fire class of the cable is Eca according to EN 50575:2014 + A1:2016 and Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) No 305/2011 (CPR).
