Universal fiber optic cable for indoor and outdoor networks

This OM2 multimode fiber optic cable, manufactured by ALANTEC, combines flexibility of application with high reliability. The cable's construction, based on a central tube filled with a hydrophobic gel, protects the fibers from moisture, and additional reinforcement with aramid fibers protects against mechanical damage, including rodents.

The U-DQ(ZN)BH / ZW-NOTKtsdD cable is versatile – it can be laid both indoors and outdoors, in cable ducts, conduits, or directly in the ground (in places with limited exposure to damage). This simplifies installation and eliminates the need to use different types of cables depending on the environment. Made of LSOH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) material, it ensures fire safety by limiting the emission of toxic gases during combustion.

Construction and structural features

The cable has a single-tube construction with 4 optical fibers, which facilitates the processing and splicing of individual fibers. The fibers are color-coded for easy identification. Additional strength elements, such as an aramid fiber wrap, increase resistance to tensile and mechanical damage. The outer LSOH jacket is resistant to UV radiation and moisture, guaranteeing long-term reliability even in harsh weather conditions. The outer diameter of the cable is 5.5 mm (with a tolerance of +/- 5%).

This cable uses OM2 (MultiMode) multimode fibers, which are optimal for transmission over short distances. It has 4 fibers, allowing for redundancy or additional connections. The jacket is made of LSOH material – safe for health and the environment and resistant to UV radiation and moisture. The single-tube construction facilitates fiber processing and splicing. Aramid reinforcement provides protection against mechanical damage and rodents. Universal application (external-internal) provides installation flexibility.
