Fiber optic cable OM4, designed for data transmission in telecommunications, computer networks and CATV and FTTx systems. The construction with a central tube filled with a hydrophobic gel provides protection of the fibers against moisture, and additionally, the anti-rodent reinforcement with aramid fibers increases its durability and resistance to mechanical damage. This cable is universal – it is suitable for installation both indoors and outdoors, in cable ducts, conduits or directly in the ground (in places not very exposed to damage).

The cable is made in multimode (MM) 50/125 μm technology, which guarantees high quality transmission over shorter distances. The LSOH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) jacket minimizes the emission of toxic substances in the event of a fire, increasing safety. The blue color makes it easier to identify the cable during installation and subsequent maintenance.

Construction and properties

The cable construction is based on a central tube containing 24 optical fibers. These fibers are protected against environmental influences thanks to the use of a hydrophobic gel and a sheath of aramid fibers, which protect against rodents and mechanical damage. The LSOH jacket provides fire safety. The cable is characterized by an outer diameter of 6.5 mm and high tensile strength (static 1000 N, dynamic 2000 N). The minimum bending radius during installation is 60 mm. It meets the Euroclass Eca standard, which allows it to be used in residential and commercial buildings.
