Protection for difficult areas in anti-corrosion installations
Mastic 745 ANTICOR PLAST is a specialist material in plastic form, designed to fill surface irregularities and level sharp transitions in shapes and dimensions. Its primary task is to prepare the substrate for a two-layer anti-corrosion insulation system, used in systems combining ANTICOR PLAST 701-40 and ANTICOR 730-08 products. Thanks to its consistency, the material is ideal for sealing flanged, socket, compression (union) joints, and various valve components where standard tapes or coatings may not ensure full tightness.
Practical application and key properties
Application of the mastic does not require complex tools or specialized equipment. The product is easy to apply – simply knead it by hand or with a spatula onto a previously cleaned surface (free of dirt, dust, rust, and moisture). The content of corrosion inhibitors and special additives improving adhesion ensures that the mastic bonds effectively to the substrate, creating a barrier protecting against corrosion. Importantly, the material is insoluble in water and contains no components hazardous to health or the environment in harmful quantities, facilitating work in confined spaces.
Product safety and compliance are confirmed by the following certificates: DVGW Certificate (compliance with standards for water and gas installations) and National Institute of Hygiene (PIH) Approval (safety for installations in contact with drinking water).
Application in insulation systems
Mastic 745 ANTICOR PLAST serves as a key element in the insulation process, particularly where the geometry of components makes the uniform application of other materials difficult. By filling voids and smoothing sharp edges, it prevents the formation of stress concentration points in the insulation layer. This is a universal solution for installers working on carrier pipes relative to protective casings and at complex valve connections.
Key application areas include sealing flanged and socket joints against moisture, filling irregularities on valves, compression fittings, and fittings, as well as smoothing sharp edges before applying the main layer (e.g., 701-40). The material is also effective for sealing carrier pipes relative to their protective casings.
Available in a net weight package of 2 kg (sahara color), the mastic allows for precise execution of insulation work without the need to mix components or wait for long drying times before further assembly operations.
