BiT L2 BUS outdoor cable is a specialized cable designed for connecting L2-BUS network components (standard 485) and transmitting analog and digital signals. The cable's construction, with twisted pair copper conductors, ensures good symmetry to ground, minimizing interference and guaranteeing high-quality transmission. Additionally, a double shield – in the form of an aluminum tape and a copper braid – effectively protects against external electromagnetic fields.
This cable is particularly recommended for outdoor use, thanks to its polyethylene jacket resistant to UV radiation. It can be used in both dry and humid conditions and outdoors. The cable is intended for permanent installation. For applications requiring direct burial, the BiT L2 BUS DB cable is recommended.
The cable is characterized by single-wire copper conductors with a cross-section of 0.64 mm². The insulation is made of foamed polyethylene with an additional layer of solid polyethylene. The shield consists of a polyester tape coated with aluminum and a braid of tinned copper wires. The jacket is made of UV-resistant polyethylene (PE) and is black in color. The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 7.6 mm, and the wave impedance is 150 ± 10%. The loop resistance of the conductors does not exceed 115 Ω/km, and the shield resistance is a maximum of 9.7 Ω/km. The cable retains its properties in the temperature range of -30°C to +80°C during operation and from -5°C to +50°C during installation.
The BiT L2 BUS outdoor cable meets the PN-EN 60332-1 standard in terms of flame retardancy and is characterized by a fire reaction class of Fca.
