RFM-C3 Data Concentrator – central hub for collecting data from the M-Bus network

RFM-C3 is an advanced gateway that collects data transmitted by wireless M-Bus devices and forwards it. It uses GPRS communication or Ethernet/LAN/Wi-Fi connection for this purpose, providing flexibility in choosing the data transmission method. The device is particularly useful in remote meter reading systems, energy consumption monitoring, and smart building applications.

The RFM-C3 concentrator is designed to work with radio modules, meters, and cost allocators from B METERS equipped with a Wireless M-Bus interface. The collected consumption data is then sent by e-mail in .txt format, and the message can be directed to a maximum of five different recipients with a configurable frequency – daily, weekly, or monthly. This flexibility allows you to adapt the reporting method to individual user needs.

Device configuration is done using a computer connected via LAN cable (RJ-45) to the concentrator's Ethernet port. This enables easy and intuitive management of operating parameters and access to collected data.

RFM-C3 is not only a data collection device, but also an element enabling the construction of complex monitoring and energy management systems. Its applications include:

Technical characteristics and construction

The RFM-C3 concentrator is characterized by a solid construction and a wide operating temperature range, from -10°C to +55°C. It has a WMBUS radio interface compliant with EN14757-4 @868 MHz standard and a GPRS interface operating in QuadBand 850/900/1800/1900 MHz standard. Additionally, it is equipped with a 100 Mb/s Ethernet port, which enables data transmission via a wired or Wi-Fi network. The device has internal memory allowing storage of up to 1000 WMBUS telegrams, ensuring data security in case of temporary connection failure. The WMBUS signal range is up to 300 meters in optimal radio wave propagation conditions – however, it should be remembered that the actual range may vary depending on environmental conditions (buildings, climatic conditions). The device has an IP20 protection rating.

The concentrator is powered from an AC 100-240 V, 50-60 Hz network with a maximum power of 13W. Compact dimensions (250 x 155 x 55 mm including antennas) facilitate mounting in various locations.
