Blind flange for water supply installations

This blind flange, made of ductile iron, is designed to close the ends of water supply installations and in potable water systems where corrosion resistance and durability are required. Its construction allows for effective sealing and ensures safe operation.

Construction and materials

The flange is made of ductile iron EN-GJS 500-7, which guarantees high mechanical strength and resistance to cracking. Ductile iron is a material commonly used in hydraulic components due to its properties – it is more plastic than traditional gray cast iron, which translates to greater resistance to dynamic loads. The surface of the flange is coated with epoxy powder paint, providing anti-corrosion protection with a thickness of at least 250µm (in RAL 5005 color). This coating extends the life of the element, especially in an aggressive environment.

Application and compatibility

Blind flange X DN250, PN16 is primarily used in:

• Water supply installations: as a closing element for pipelines.
• Potable water systems: thanks to materials approved for contact with water intended for consumption.
• Technical installations: where a threaded connection and high tightness are required.

The flange has connection dimensions in accordance with PN-EN 1092-2 standard, which ensures compatibility with other hydraulic installation elements meeting this standard. The PN16 marking indicates a maximum working pressure of 16 bar.
