This connection saddle DN160x50, made of grey cast iron, is a key tool for connecting domestic installations to the water supply network. It allows for a connection on both PVC and PE pipes, and importantly – drilling can be performed on a working pipeline, minimizing the need to interrupt the water supply. Design and application

The saddle is designed to create connections with a diameter of 50 mm (2" internal thread) in pipes with a diameter of 160 mm. Made of high-quality grey cast iron (EN-GJL-250), it ensures durability and corrosion resistance. Its design allows for precise and safe drilling, and its self-drilling nature eliminates the need for additional tools. The applications of this saddle include:

Operating parameters and safety

The saddle is characterized by high operating parameters, ensuring safe and reliable operation. The nominal pressure is PN10 – a standard pressure for water installations. The operating temperature is in the range of 0-40°C, which corresponds to typical conditions for drinking water. The maximum water velocity is 3 m/s, ensuring optimal flow. The drill diameter is 34 mm, allowing for precise drilling of the hole. The maximum pipe thickness that can be drilled is 15 mm, allowing it to be adapted to different pipe wall thicknesses. The torque during hole cutting is 50 Nm, ensuring effective drilling even in difficult conditions.

Additionally, the saddle has an approval for contact with drinking water, guaranteeing safety and no impact on water quality. An epoxy coating with a minimum thickness of 80 μm protects against corrosion and extends the product's life.
