Equipotential bonding busbar for Ex zones 1/21, 2/22, 1 flat connection and 5 lug connections 472410
Equipotential bonding busbar for hazardous areas
This non-sparking equipotential bonding busbar is designed for integrating metal wires and conductors in hazardous areas, providing effective protection against the effects of atmospheric discharges and short circuits. It is a key element of equipotential bonding systems, compliant with applicable standards.
The busbar is intended for use in zones Ex 1 and 2 (gases, vapors, mists) and Ex 21 and 22 (dusts), making it a universal solution for various industrial applications. Made of high-quality materials, it guarantees reliability and long-term operation even in harsh environmental conditions.
Design and application
The busbar has one flat connection (M10 x 40 mm with spring washer) and five lug connections (M10 x 20 mm with spring washer), allowing flexible connection of various types of conductors and installation elements. Screw locking against self-loosening, in accordance with VDE 0185-305-3 supplement 2, ensures connection stability and minimizes the risk of failure.
The possibility of use both indoors and outdoors expands its range of applications. Thanks to the temperature class T4 and the current carrying capacity class H (100 kA), the busbar ensures safe operation of the installation even under high current loads and high ambient temperatures.
Key features and benefits
- Safety in Ex zones: Certified for use in hazardous areas 1/21, 2/22 and explosion group IIC (safety factor 1) according to CLC 50703-2.
- Versatility: Compatible with various types of conductors thanks to diverse connections – flat and lug.
- Durability: Made of stainless steel (V2A), resistant to corrosion and mechanical damage.
- Compliance with standards: Meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0100 part 410/540 and VDE 0185-305-3 (IEC 62305-3).
- High current carrying capacity: Current carrying capacity class H (100 kA) ensures safe operation of the installation under high loads.
- Connection stability: Screw locking against self-loosening minimizes the risk of failure.
- Universal application: Can be mounted both indoors and outdoors.
- Lightning impulse current: Withstands lightning impulse current up to 75 kA (stainless steel) or 100 kA (HDG steel).
- Maximum short-circuit current: Up to 3.1 kA depending on the conductor material (copper or steel).
To ensure optimal protection against potential equalization failures in the hazardous area, it is recommended to use tinned cable lugs with a nickel locking layer.
