Diamond core drill bit RM-TX 102x450-7x1 1/4 UNC 10170429029
High-performance concrete drilling without water cooling
The RM-TX diamond core bit with a diameter of 102 mm and a length of 450 mm is a tool designed for fast dry drilling in hard construction materials. The 1¼" UNC connection allows it to be used with most diamond core drilling rigs available on the market - simply select the appropriate mounting core/adapter that fits your equipment.
The RM-TX series is distinguished by the use of diamond segments with oriented diamonds. The orientation of the diamond crystals in the segment is not accidental - each one is arranged so that the hardest part is facing the material being processed. Combined with the turbo segment shape and efficient bond, this provides a high penetration rate while maintaining tool durability.
Construction and application
The RM-TX core bit is primarily dedicated to dry mode operation, which means there is no need to connect a water cooling system. This is a significant advantage where the use of water is impossible (e.g., when drilling near electrical installations) or undesirable due to site conditions.
The tool is effective in the following materials:
- plain and reinforced concrete - load-bearing walls, ceilings, foundations
- natural stone - granite, sandstone, and similar mineral rocks
- mineral materials - solid brick, concrete blocks
The 450 mm working length allows for making through-holes in standard building partitions without the need to interrupt work or extend the tool.
Operation and maintenance
During dry drilling, stable pressure and constant rotational speed are key. Too much pressure accelerates segment wear, while too little extends the working time. It is recommended to adjust the rotational parameters to the hardness of the material being drilled.
Before first use, it is advisable to perform a short "break-in" - a few seconds of drilling under light pressure allows the diamond segments to reach their optimal operating temperature. For longer holes, periodic retraction of the core bit is recommended to remove debris from inside the hole and ensure proper heat dissipation.
Due to the lack of water cooling, long continuous passes should be avoided - pulsed work (a few seconds of work, followed by a break to dissipate heat) significantly extends the lifespan of the diamond segments.
Compliance and mounting compatibility
The 1¼" UNC connection (otherwise 1¼ inch internal threading) is a standard used by many diamond drilling rig manufacturers. Before purchase, ensure that your drilling rig has a mounting shank with a matching external thread - adapters are also available to allow the mounting of this core bit on machines with smaller shanks.
The product comes from an authorized DISTAR distributor - this guarantees the originality of the diamond segments and the repeatability of parameters between units. Each core bit is ready to work without additional modification or accessories.
