Matrix selection rules

• parameters of the crimped terminal or connector,
• the desired shape of the crimp (e.g. oval, trapezoidal, square, hexagonal, with a dent),
• type of clamping tool used (e.g. hand press, hydraulic press, hydraulic head).

Different dies are used for crimping Cu ring terminals without insulation, Cu terminals and connectors with insulation, sleeve terminals without and with insulation, and Cu and Al tubular terminals and connectors. It is worth checking whether a mark indicating the approximate outer diameter of the terminal (mm) has been stamped on a given crimping die.
