Diamond core drill bit T-Concrete / SDS+ 72x65-4xM16 17982445080
Precise drilling of holes for sockets in concrete and brick
The Distar DDS-W T-Concrete diamond core drill bit with a diameter of 72 mm is a tool designed for making blind holes for electrical boxes and installation accessories in unreinforced concrete and brick walls. The design, based on four diamond segments, ensures fast and clean material cutting without the need for coolant - the work is performed completely dry.
The M16 shank with an SDS-plus adapter allows the drill bit to be mounted directly into the chuck of a rotary hammer or a drill with speed control. The set includes a carbide-tipped pilot drill that stabilizes the guidance of the core and prevents tool wandering at the start of drilling.
Construction and mounting system
The core has a length of 65 mm with a diameter of 72 mm, allowing for precise drilling through typical partition or load-bearing wall thicknesses for standard recessed boxes. The internal M16 thread is used to seat the pilot drill, and the entire assembly connects to the machine via an M16/SDS-plus adapter - a solution compatible with most rotary hammers available on the market.
Four diamond segments distributed around the circumference of the core work evenly, resulting in a stable drilling speed and predictable tool service life. The manufacturer recommends using this type of core drill primarily for large work series - the design was developed with installers performing repetitive passages for cables and accessories in mind.
Operating principles and compatibility
A drill or rotary hammer with a minimum power of 650 W is required to operate the core. Key rule: the hammer mode must be turned off. Working in hammer mode is strictly prohibited - dynamic impacts lead to overheating of the diamond segments and the risk of cracking the core. Drilling is performed exclusively dry, without adding water.
To improve efficiency and limit dust, the manufacturer recommends an optional adapter that supplies water to the cutting zone. Water effectively flushes out debris and lowers the operating temperature, which can extend the lifespan of the segments during intensive use.
The tool is effective not only in unreinforced concrete but also in solid and perforated brick - materials typical for partition walls in residential and public utility buildings.
Safety and operating conditions
Before starting work, ensure that the hammer mode is deactivated - this is a fundamental safety rule in diamond machining. During drilling, lateral pressure and sudden changes in direction should be avoided, as they can overload the segments.
The manufacturer also offers Distar T-Concrete core drills in diameters of 68 mm and 82 mm, allowing the core size to be matched to a specific type of box or installation element. All variants have the same working depth (65 mm) and an identical M16/SDS-plus mounting system.
