DC overcurrent circuit breaker 1-pole FAZ-C6/1-DC 279125
Overcurrent switch for DC and AC applications
This single-pole overcurrent switch from Eaton, model FAZ-C6/1-DC, provides reliable protection for electrical installations in both direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) applications. A rated current of 6A and a C characteristic make it ideal for protecting circuits powering devices with variable loads, such as LED lighting, alarm systems, or controllers. The breaking capacity of up to 10kA at 230V and 400V ensures effective protection against the effects of short circuits.
Design and installation
The switch is designed for mounting on a TH35 rail, occupying only one module width. The compact dimensions (installation depth 70.5 mm) allow installation in switchboards with limited space. Wire cross-sections from 1 to 25 mm² allow connection of a wide range of solid and stranded wires. Additionally, the possibility of later adding accessories increases the functionality of the switch, and the three-position snap-in slider facilitates dismantling without the need to disconnect the wires.
Application and safety
The FAZ-C6/1-DC switch meets the requirements of IEC 60947-2 standards and has energy limitation class 3 and surge category 3, which guarantees its reliable operation in difficult operating conditions. Protection class IP20 protects against accidental contact. Designed to operate at temperatures from -25°C to +75°C, it is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications (in distribution boxes). The C characteristic allows it to react more slowly to short current surges, so it tolerates starting devices with a motor well. It protects the circuit against overload and short circuit - like most switches in this class. The rated insulation voltage Ui is 440V and the rated impulse withstand voltage Uimp is 4kV.
