Overcurrent circuit breaker PLSM-C16/3-MW is a three-pole protective device safeguarding electrical installations against overloads and short circuits. Designed by Eaton, it meets the requirements of modern electrical installations in residential and commercial buildings. Its compact dimensions – only 3 modules wide – allow for efficient use of space in the distribution board.

Protection and reliability in practice

This circuit breaker features a C characteristic, meaning it reacts with a delay to short-term current surges, typical of starting motors or devices with heating elements. This minimizes the risk of unnecessary circuit tripping during normal operation, while still providing effective protection against overload and short circuit – as with any circuit breaker in this class. The rated short-circuit breaking capacity of 10 kA at 400 V and 230 V guarantees safety even in the event of serious failures.

Installation and compatibility

The PLSM-C16/3-MW circuit breaker is designed for mounting on a TH35 rail. It accepts both solid and stranded wires with a cross-section from 1 mm² to 25 mm², providing flexibility during installation. Its IP20 degree of protection means it is protected against accidental contact, but is not resistant to water ingress – therefore, it should be used in dry rooms. The possibility of additional accessories allows the circuit breaker to be adapted to specific installation needs. Operation in an ambient temperature from -25°C to 75°C makes it suitable for use in various environmental conditions.

In accordance with EN 60898 standards, the energy limitation class is 3, and the surge category is III, confirming its high quality and safety of use. The rated insulation voltage Ui is 440V and the rated impulse withstand voltage Uimp is 4kV.
