Installation contactor – reliable circuit control
The Eaton Z-SCH230/40-20 modular contactor is a device designed for automatic switching of electrical circuits on and off. It will be suitable for both home and industrial installations where reliability and precision are required. The device is characterized by a compact design, allowing for easy mounting in standard distribution boards.
Functionality and application
This contactor is designed to control lighting, electric heating, ventilation, pumps and other devices with high power consumption. The rated operating current of 40A allows for handling loads up to 5520W (for incandescent bulbs). It has two normally closed contacts (2NC), which ensures effective circuit switching. The control voltage of 230V AC guarantees compatibility with most standard automation systems.
Construction and characteristic features
The Eaton Z-SCH230/40-20 contactor is distinguished by its solid construction and high quality workmanship. It occupies 3 modules in the distribution board, and its mounting depth is 60mm. The IP40 degree of protection protects against the ingress of larger solids into the device. An additional advantage is the possibility of expansion with additional equipment, which allows for flexible adaptation to individual user needs. It is worth mentioning the contact status indicator on the front of the device, large terminals and dampened operating noise – features appreciated by installers. The device is made of flame-retardant materials and plastics free of chlorine and halogens, which increases safety of use.
Safety and compliance with standards
The contactor meets the requirements of IEC 61095, EN 61095, VDE 0660, IEC 60947-4-1 and EN 60947-4-1 standards. It provides effective protection of the installation against overload and short circuit – as with most circuit breakers in this class. The utilization category AC-1 indicates its intended use for resistive or inductive circuits without suppression.
