Main Switch HIS-40/4

The HIS-40/4 main switch is a reliable component of switchgear systems, designed for long-term operation at a rated current of 40A and a voltage up to 415V AC, while offering a high breaking capacity of 12.5 kA.

Construction and Technical Parameters

The four-pole design of the switch occupies a width of 4 modules on a standard TH35 rail, allowing for compact installation in switchgear enclosures. The installation depth is 69.5 mm, and the device weighs only 0.406 kg.

The device's short-circuit strength (Icw = 1 kA) guarantees safe operation even in the event of emergency short-circuit conditions. The design is intended for operation in temperatures ranging from -5°C to +40°C.

The IP40 protection rating protects against finger access and against solid foreign objects with a diameter ≥1.0 mm, while not providing protection against water - typical for devices mounted inside switchgear enclosures.

Functionality and Safety

The switch is equipped with 4 making contacts (normally open), which ensure full separation of all four phase conductors during disconnection. The "switch-off" type switching function enables safe disconnection of the circuit from the power supply during both normal operation and emergency situations.

The device features the possibility of locking the mechanism with a padlock (Lockout-Tagout). The arrow symbol printed on the device clearly indicates the direction of the switch operation.

"Lift terminal" type terminals allow for the connection of conductors with a cross-section up to 50 mm². The maximum continuous current can reach up to 125A.

Application and Compatibility

The HIS-40/4 switch is used as a main element in switchgear installations, providing separation of circuits supplying various groups of loads. The minimum voltage of 240V AC and maximum of 415V AC covers the standard voltage ranges found in single-phase and three-phase installations.

The device meets European standard requirements and holds the RoHS certificate, confirming compliance with directives regarding the restriction of hazardous substances.

Thanks to its standard modular width and compatibility with the TH35 rail, the switch easily integrates with most available modular switchgear systems from various manufacturers.
