Modular terminal block for low-voltage distribution boards

The BPZ-KB-6/175 terminal block is a three-pole distribution bar designed for Eaton xEnergy Basic systems, intended for installation in floor-standing, surface-mounted, and panel enclosures. The device allows for the connection of one incoming and six outgoing conductors per pole, enabling efficient circuit separation in industrial installations and public buildings.

Electrical parameters and current-carrying capacity

The rated operational current is 175 A for all applicable standards (IEC, UL, CSA), ensuring compatibility with a wide range of installations. The maximum rated voltage reaches 1000 V AC according to IEC and 1500 V DC, allowing for use in direct current circuits.

The block withstands a peak current of 30 kA and a short-time current of 11 kA (Icw), guaranteeing safety even under short-circuit conditions. The conductor cross-section range is 2.5-70 mm² for rigid single- and multi-strand wires, as well as flexible conductors with ferrules.

Construction and operating conditions

The housing, made of PA66 polyamide, provides thermal resistance up to a deflection temperature of 100°C and a UL94 V-0 flammability rating – the material does not propagate flame and self-extinguishes after the ignition source is removed. Brass flat-surface terminals ensure a durable electrical connection with a rated tightening torque of 6-10 Nm for incoming conductors and 3-4 Nm for outgoing conductors.

The IP20 protection rating indicates protection against finger contact and solid foreign objects larger than 12 mm – a standard for devices installed inside distribution boards. The housing color is RAL 7035 (light gray), facilitating identification within the system.

Mounting and dimensions

The device dimensions are 80.1 × 71 × 43 mm (width × height × depth), and the weight is only 0.415 kg, facilitating handling during installation. Seven terminal positions per pole allow for flexible wire routing without the need for additional splitters.

Universal mounting – possible in any position – supports both rigid and flexible conductors with ferrules, eliminating constraints in cable selection. The product complies with the RoHS directive and meets UL 1059 and IEC 60947-7-1 standards.
