The B3.1/2-PKZ0 three-phase busbar block is an advanced solution for powering two PKZM0 series motor starter protectors in a three-phase configuration. The system provides a safe and reliable electrical connection with built-in protection against accidental contact.

Design and operating parameters

The phase busbar, with a length of 99 mm and a width of 5.5 modules, has been designed for maximum functionality within limited control cabinet space. Component spacing of 54 mm allows for optimal component layout while maintaining safe clearances.

The design utilizes fork connections, which guarantee a secure and durable electrical connection without the need for additional tools. The component is fully insulated and finished in black, ensuring a professional appearance and additional protection against accidental contact.

The system operates at a maximum rated voltage Ue = 690 V and a rated continuous current Iu = 63 A, allowing for use in most medium-power industrial applications. A rated impulse withstand voltage of 6 kV ensures resistance to atmospheric and switching surges.

Application and system compatibility

The B3.1/2-PKZ0 block was developed specifically for two PKZM0 devices, offering the possibility to mount auxiliary contacts or trip indicators on the right side of each unit. This flexibility allows the configuration to be adapted to the specific requirements of the electrical installation.

The system is part of the broader PKZ product family, ensuring full compatibility with PKZM0/PKZM01/PKZM4 series accessories. This includes various trip units, side and front auxiliary contacts, and trip indicators, enabling the construction of comprehensive motor control solutions.

A particular advantage is the ability to achieve a tool-free connection to DILM7..15 contactors using the PKZM0-XDM12 adapter, which significantly simplifies the installation process and reduces assembly time. Additionally, specialized accessories are available, such as supply terminals, supply busbars, and adapters for mounting direct-on-line starters on rails with a 60 mm pitch.

Advanced protective and operational features

The system is characterized by a very high short-circuit breaking capacity: up to 150 kA for currents up to 10 A and 50 kA for the 12-32 A range. These parameters ensure effective circuit protection even in the event of extreme short-circuit conditions.

The built-in phase failure detection function provides an additional layer of motor protection, automatically reacting to irregularities in the three-phase supply. This functionality is crucial in applications where power stability is critical to the production process.
