Insulated mast for horizontal down conductors – protection and stability

This insulated mast on a quadripod is a key element of a lightning protection system, designed to protect metal roof elements and equipment such as skylights, air conditioners, or ventilation ducts from the effects of atmospheric discharges. The structure supports high-type horizontal down conductors, using Aldrey rope.

The mast combines the strength of aluminum with the resistance of stainless steel (V2A) in the quadripod, ensuring stability and long-lasting protection. The 1-meter long insulating rod allows for safe placement of the mast near devices, minimizing the required isolation distances. This solution is particularly useful in situations where space is limited.

Construction and installation

The mast is supplied complete with a quadripod equipped with 12 concrete bases and a mounting kit. The distance between individual masts connected by Aldrey rope should not exceed 10 meters, ensuring optimal protection efficiency. For mounting on concrete substrates, it is recommended to use an additional pad (ordered separately – cat. no. 44408208). For roofs covered with roofing felt or membranes, it is worth considering the use of additional pads (cat. no. 94308222 and 94308221), which will increase the stability and tightness of the connection. A lightning conductor connector for the wire is included in the set, making it easier to integrate with the rest of the lightning protection system.
