Universal power cable for powering devices

The workshop cable H05VV-F, commonly known as OWY, is a flexible solution for powering various electrical devices. It performs reliably in both household and professional workshop environments. Its construction and materials ensure safe and reliable power transmission. This cable is especially popular for making extension cords, powering electric tools, and in temporary installations.

Construction and properties

The OWY cable features stranded copper conductors with a cross-section of 1.5 mm², ensuring excellent flexibility and resistance to bending. The conductors are insulated with polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and the entire cable is covered with an outer sheath made of the same material, providing protection against mechanical damage and environmental factors. The cable design allows operation in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +70°C. The approximate outer diameter is 7.3 mm. Note that the minimum bending radius during permanent installation is approximately 43.8 mm – excessive bending may negatively affect its service life.

Application and safety

The H05VV-F cable is designed for use at a rated voltage of 500 V (300 V for U0). It can be used both indoors and outdoors, in cable ducts, or directly laid on the ground (with appropriate precautions). However, it is not resistant to oils and should not be used in areas exposed to contact with them. The cable does not feature shielding or self-extinguishing properties – this must be considered when selecting the installation location. It is a standard installation cable that meets basic safety requirements for use.
