The H05VV-F cable, also known as OWY, is a versatile power cable ideal for a wide range of applications. Made with multi-strand flexible copper conductors (Class 5), it offers excellent flexibility and ease of routing, appreciated by both professional installers and end users. This cable is designed for medium-duty use, including in damp indoor environments.
Construction and Properties
The H05VV-F cable features a robust design. The multi-strand flexible copper conductors (Class 5) are insulated with polyvinyl chloride (TI2), and the entire assembly is protected by an outer polyvinyl chloride sheath (TM2). This combination of materials ensures not only durability and resistance to mechanical damage but also excellent electrical insulation. The color-coded conductor insulation simplifies identification during installation – in the 3-core version, you’ll find green-yellow (PE), blue (N), and brown (L).
This cable is rated for a nominal voltage of 300/500 V. Its round shape and approximate outer diameter of 6.2 mm (for the 3 x 0.5 mm² version) facilitate installation and routing in confined spaces. The minimum bending radius is 37.2 mm for fixed installations, allowing the cable to be adapted to complex layouts.
