The ETITEC CM T23 275/20 4+0 RC surge protector is a key element in protecting electrical installations from the effects of lightning strikes and switching surges. The device is designed for mounting on a TH-35 mm DIN rail and provides Type 2 (T2) protection and, to a certain extent, Type 3 (T3) protection. This combination makes these surge protectors suitable for both sub-distribution boards and directly at sensitive receivers.

Functionality and application

The surge protector is based on MOV varistor technology, guaranteeing a fast and effective response to overvoltages. The CM T23 275/20 4+0 RC model is characterized by its ability to dissipate a peak discharge current of 20 kA (8/20 μs) and a maximum current of 40 kA. The rated AC voltage is 230 V, and the maximum continuous operating voltage is 275 V. The surge protector is adapted to work in TN and TN-S networks. It also has an optical indication of operation, informing about the need to replace the varistor insert in case of damage.

The ETITEC CM T23 surge protector has been designed with ease of installation and diagnostics in mind. It occupies two modules on the DIN rail, allowing it to be installed even in limited spaces within the distribution board. The rated discharge current of 20 kA provides effective protection against most overvoltages occurring in domestic and commercial installations. Additionally, the high short-circuit strength (Isccr) of 25 kA increases the safety of the device in the event of a short circuit in the installation. The optical indication of the surge protector's status facilitates quick identification of a damaged element, minimizing system downtime. The maximum conductor cross-section is 10 mm² for solid and stranded conductors and 6 mm² for flexible conductors. The IP20 degree of protection provides basic protection against accidental contact.
