Residual Current Device (RCD) EFI-4 A S 25/0.1 is a reliable device designed to protect people and electrical installations from the effects of electric shock and fire hazards resulting from insulation damage. Its construction based on proven technologies guarantees effective operation in TN-S, TN-C-S, TT and IT networks, where the neutral and earth conductors are separated.

Product features and application

This four-pole (4P) switch with a rated current of 25A is characterized by high selectivity, indicated by the symbol "S". This means that in the event of a short circuit or overload, it will only disconnect the section of the circuit where the problem occurred, and not the entire installation. This is particularly important in large installations, where selectivity allows for quick location and repair of the fault without having to disconnect the power in the entire building. The rated differential current is 100mA, providing protection against indirect contact electric shock. Made in type A S, it is sensitive to both AC and pulsating DC currents, and also has a guaranteed hold time of at least 40ms ensuring selective operation with other protective devices.

Construction and parameters

The switch is mounted on a DIN rail, which facilitates its installation and replacement. Its mounting depth is 68 mm, and its width occupies 4 modules. The switch is designed to operate at ambient temperatures from -25°C to 55°C and has a protection degree of IP20 – protects against touching with fingers and against the ingress of solid objects larger than 12.5 mm. The possibility of connecting wires with a cross-section from 1 to 25 mm² (solid and stranded) provides a wide range of applications. The rated impulse withstand voltage is 4kV, which increases its resistance to overvoltages. The short-circuit withstand current (Icw) is 10 kA and the surge current withstand is 5 kA.
