This 1-module staircase timer AS-224, designed for DIN rail mounting, is an ideal solution for controlling lighting in places such as stairwells, corridors or halls. It provides automatic switching off of the lighting after a set time, which translates into energy savings and user comfort. The anti-blocking function protects against continuous lighting in the event of a switch being blocked, which increases safety and extends the life of the device.

Functionality and application

The AS-224 staircase timer responds to a signal from a momentary switch (bell switch), keeping the light on for a time adjustable in the range of 0.5 to 10 minutes. After this time, it switches off automatically. Thanks to this solution, you don't have to remember to turn off the light manually – the device will do it for you. The anti-blocking function is particularly useful in public places where there is a risk of intentional or accidental blocking of the switch. The device is designed to work with 24V AC circuits and has a wide range of applications – from residential buildings to commercial facilities.

Technical characteristics and installation

The AS-224 timer is characterized by a compact design (1 module – 18 mm wide) which allows for easy installation in standard distribution boards. Connection is made using 2.5 mm² screw terminals, and the tightening torque is 0.4 Nm. The device is designed to operate at temperatures from -25°C to +50°C. It is worth noting the compatibility – the timer does not work with backlit switches. The device power supply is 24V AC, and the maximum switching capacity for incandescent bulbs is 2300W, for fluorescent lamps 550VA (or 1000VA with DUO compensation and 800VA with parallel compensation). The rated switching current is 16A. The power consumption of the timer itself is only 0.6W.
